Chalk Talk: Meet the Artists of the Performer-Composer Residency

Imagine nine musicians, each with a unique musical and cultural background—many who have never met before—coming together for a week to create a concert of music. How does this happen? At the Performer-Composer Residency (PCR), we start by getting to know each other.

We warmly welcome you to an informal behind-the-scenes experience to get to know this year’s ten Performer-Composer Residency participants. Each of the participants will share a musical topic that brings them joy for ten minutes—it might be in the form of a performance, a live demonstration, sharing their creative work, or telling a personal story—who knows? It is sure to be a fun and creatively inspiring evening to experience and learn about a variety of perspectives on collaborative and intercultural compositional practices, improvisation, and approaches to original music-making.
